OBJECTIVE
The objective of this project was to research and create a 32-page monograph highlighting the work and influence of Gail Anderson. The assignment focused on developing strong editorial design skills by combining research, typography, and layout design into a cohesive printed publication. The final outcome required designing the full book layout while also preparing and producing the physical book through printing, cutting, and binding.

ROLE
For this project, I was responsible for the entire design and production process. I conducted research on Gail Anderson’s career and design style, developed the visual direction of the monograph, and designed all 32 pages of the editorial layout. In addition to the design work, I prepared the files for print and physically produced the book by printing, trimming the pages, and binding the final publication.
SPREADS
DIRECTION
The visual direction of the monograph was inspired by Gail Anderson’s expressive and typography-driven design style. Her work often features bold lettering, strong visual hierarchy, and playful composition, which influenced the overall aesthetic of the magazine. The goal was to create a layout that felt energetic and engaging while still maintaining readability and structure.
DESIGN CONCEPT
The design concept was centered around using typography as the primary visual element throughout the publication. Inspired by Gail Anderson’s approach to design, the layouts emphasize strong typographic hierarchy and dynamic compositions. The concept was to balance bold visuals with structured editorial layouts so that the content remained clear and readable while still reflecting the creativity and character associated with Anderson’s work.
